Genk vs. Chelsea - Champions League Match Preview

After beating Genk 5-0 at home two weeks ago, Andre Villas-Boas is expected to rest several of Chelsea's key men for the reverse Champions League fixture tonight.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has quietly but confidently made Chelsea into a formidable side again and they are just as dangerous as contenders to Manchester United's crown as Manchester City. One weekend later and a home defeat to Arsenal and commentators are now suggesting that he is too naive for the job at hand isn't the man for the long term to steady Chelsea's ship and make them into the real Premier League and Champions League contenders they once were! Fortunes do quickly change in this business and with that, a comfortable victory away in Belgian at Genk tonight in the Champions League will go a long way to forgetting the weekend's derby defeat. Chelsea beat Genk 5-0 at home and really could have had more in an obviously one sided affair and not many would predict them having too much trouble tonight.

Team News

Didier Drogba is out having just had six screws removed from his elbow. John Obi Mikel hasn't travelled. After the comfortable 5-0 home win, the likes of John Terry and Frank Lampard likely rested from the first team with Nicolas Anelka and Oriol Romeu coming into the side. Terry was rested from this fixture two weeks ago and with a racism probe hanging over his head, we really can't see him playing. Obviously Michael Essien is still a long term absentee and reserve goalkeeper Hilario is missing with the flu.

Line-ups from;

Chelsea (from): Cech, Bosingwa, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Luiz, Romeu, Ramires, Lampard, Torres, Mata, Malouda, Meireles, McEachran, Kalou, Sturridge, Anelka, Turnbull, Blackman.
