After an impressive first season in the English Premier League, scoring 17 goals in 35 league appearances, Grant Holt has established himself as a key player for Norwich City. Although no team has expressed interest yet, the English 31-year-old shocked the club today when expressed his intention to leave the club. Grant Holt joined the club in 2009 for around £400,000 from Shrewsbury Town. Ever since then the striker has been on top form for the club helping them gain promotion and achieving a respectable place in the Premier League. Earlier this week, Grant Holt was left out of the England Euros 2012 squad after many pundits suggest he should play at the summer tournament. The neglect by the new England Roy Hodgson, seems to have pushed the striker over the edge and forced him to desire to make an impact at a bigger club. Holt signed a new deal at the beginning of the season, which would keep him at Carrow Road until 2014. Even though the Norwich board have rejected the transfer request it looks like Holt will have upset not only the fans but also his teammates. Norwich will now have a fight on their hands to keep the player, his impressive form and his great attitude will be missed at the club if he does leave this summer. With no bids or interests at the moment, now teams understand he is unhappy at the club, there will be wealth of interest and speculation throughout the summer.
