Following talks with manager Simon Grayson, Huddersfield Town centre back Jamie McCombe has agreed to cancel his contract by mutual agreement, according to TeamTalk. McCombe made a total of sixty eight appearances and scored nine goals during his time with the club. The move comes shortly after Town decided to allow fellow defender Anthony Kay to leave the club and join League One MK Dons. Talks between the manager and the player revealed that he needs to play regularly. McCombe who is twenty nine years of age only made five senior first team appearances last season and with new defensive enforcement's in the form of Joel Lynch and Paul Dixon now is probably the best time for the player to make a move to pastures new. Having played for Bristol and Lincoln City it will be interesting to see who would be willing to offer the centre back a contract. Speculation would say that McCombe would make a return to a League One club as this is where most of his experience lies, possible suitors could be MK Dons or Swindon Town where two former Town players Gary Roberts and Tommy Miller have made the switch to the County Ground.
