Mario Gotze would not be a like-for-like replacement for Arturo Vidal but he would offer Juventus world class ability in the final third. The World Cup winner has developed into a fine No.10 midfielder and would slot into a 4-2-3-1 formation alternating with Paul Pogba and Claudio Marchisio. The 23-year-old's versatility would give Massimiliano Allegri options as the German midfielder is comfortable as a centre midfielder, attacking midfielder, inside forward or even deployed as a false nine, something that Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola occasionally tested last season. Reports earlier this month indicated that Vidal's transfer to Bayern would see Gotze move to Turin as part of the deal but it seems the player is now keen to play one more season with the German champions and earn a place in the first team.
