Liverpool Transfers: 10 Players They Should Sign
10. Jack Grealish
Why They Should Buy Him:
Grealish is the flavour of the month at the moment, having broken onto the scene and into the public eye with his performance in Aston Villa's FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool themselves. He's one of the most talented young players of the moment, and at just 19 years of age he'd be a great investment for the future.
He's a flamboyant midfielder, able to attack well and go past people - his appearances so far suggest that he has the potential to become a real force. Buying him now would mean that he can start to gel with other young players coming through. The attacking thrust he provides means he'd be a suitable replacement for Raheem Sterling if the Merseyside club sell him.
Why They Shouldn't:
Grealish doesn't have a lot of first-team experience, having only broken into Aston Villa's team towards the end of the season. Liverpool have spent a lot of money on a promising player with little Premier League experience before.
That was Andy Carroll for £35 million, and while there were a couple of good performances the transfer is widely regarded as one of the worst ever. It's something Liverpool would be careful to avoid doing again, and given his potential and Villa's likely unwillingness to part with him, Grealish would cost a lot of money.
