Liverpool Transfer News: Luis Suarez To Replace Edinson Cavani At Napoli?
Mirror. Benitez took over at the Serie A side after his stint as "interim" Chelsea manager ended and sees the controversial Kop star as the perfect replacement for the outgoing Cavani. The Spaniard has never managed Suarez as he arrived at Anfield one year after he left the club, but he is still considered a popular figure on Merseyside after guiding them to Champions League glory in 2005. He is resigned to losing Cavani, wanted by Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea, but still expects to receive in excess of £50 million for the star. And he could be replacing one 26-year old Uruguayan with another, with the proceeds to be invested in Suarez, the Premier League's second highest goalscorer last season and PFA Player of the Year nominee. Suarez has however hinted he would prefer to move to Real Madrid this summer after dropping several heavy hints that he wants to quit Anfield, but with the Spanish giants also trying to sign Cavani and Gareth Bale, both of whom would command huge transfer fees, it remains to be seen how plausible that move now is.
