London's Evening Standard. Allen was reportedly at Liverpool's Europa League game against FC Gomel last night, which saw them take a 3-0 win into today's draw for the fourth round of qualifying, where they drew out Scottish side Hearts. Pending a medical, Allen will officially be a Liverpool player next week. Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers meanwhile declared that the move was "imminent", continuing that "the fact he was here shows there has been some communication with Swansea and we expect to conclude it in the next 24 hours". The Merseyside squad are paying £15m for the player according to the Daily Mail, which matches the release clause on his contract with Swansea. Keen as Rodgers is to snap him up, Swansea boss Michael Laudrup will be looking to seal the deal swiftly so that he can move to finalise a play for a suitable replacement, rumoured to be Bolton€™s Mark Davies. Allen would be Liverpool's second summer signing after Italian Fabio Borini, who scored during his debut against Gomel last night. Rodgers' hope is that he would serve to spruce up the midfield, which Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam have failed to make an impact upon, while the reliable Steven Gerrard meanwhile begins to wind down his career.
