Menez seems to have finally realised his potential at the age of 28. After a fruitful spell at AC Milan, where he has excelled under the supervision of former Italian hitman, Pipo Inzaghi the Frenchman has been one of the most prolific strikers in Serie A this season. His 16 goals this season are a whopping quarter of his entire career goal tally.
Milan, like Liverpool, missed out on qualifying for Champions League football next season, and this could make any pursuit of the French hotshot that little bit less difficult.
Menez has proven this year, unlike the potentially-departing Sterling, that he is a clinical finisher and although he has had disciplinary issues in the past, Menez seems to have matured with age and would provide a true potency to Liverpools ever-diminishing repertoire of attacking options.
