Although the clumsy Croatian is Liverpool€™s most expensive defender ever, the Anfield club should probably try to make a sale and cut their losses.

Sometimes transfers simply do not work and Lovren€™s disastrous first campaign in Liverpool colours has been so utterly abysmal, it may well have left him at a point beyond redemption.

The £20m fee will not be rekindled, of course, but Liverpool could probably recoup £10-15m for their Croat defender.
