Liverpool Transfers: 8 Players Klopp Must Sign
8. Naby Keita
Liverpool have spent most of the summer chasing RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, but there appears to be some distance between their own valuation of the player and that of his parent club, who are said to be looking for a fee in the region £70m.
Is he worth the money? Normally, price-tags of that size are reserved for 30-goal-a-season strikers or fancy number 10s, but Keita is an all-action midfielder better known for snuffing out attacks than for finishing them off.
The departure earlier this month of Brazilian anchor-man Lucas Leiva has left a gap in the Liverpool midfield, though, and there are no prizes for guessing who Klopp wants to fill it.
He won't come cheap, but Keita could be the sort of signing - like Kante at Chelsea last year - to help transform his new side from also-rans into genuine title challengers.
