With money in the bank and a new season approaching, Brendan Rodgers is looking for a way to capitalise upon the sale of Luis Suarez - including the reported bid to bring Loic Remy to Anfield from QPR after Arsenal failed to match the Frenchman's wage demands. The club clearly feel the best way of investing their new found wealth is to sneak under the noses of their biggest rivals to steal two of their top transfer targets. Manchester United have been linked with moves for the Juventus pairing of Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba, but rumours have now surfaced that Liverpool could put in a bid for both players. With around £75million in the bank, Rodgers has a transfer sword to wield in order to boost his sides chances of challenging for the Premier League title. Alongside Pogba and Vidal, players such as Dejan Lovren of Southampton, QPR's Loic Remy and Swansea's exciting full-back Ben Davies are also thought to be on the club's radar, but by signing the Juventus pair, they would gain two world class players whilst simultaneously dealing a blow to their bitter rivals United. However the Serie A giants seem determined to keep a hold of Vidal, with offers from United being consistently rebuffed by the club who insists that he is not for sale at any price. Pogba on the other hand may be available for a massive fee of £60million, but money is no object for the Anfield club who received a massive windfall from the Suarez deal, as well as their qualification for the Champions League. Both players were thought to be happy at Juventus and may not be willing to leave to either Premier League club, but the resignation of their boss in Turin yesterday changed the lay of the land, and it seems both might be considering moving on.
