Liverpool's Champions League Winning Side: Where Are They Now?

If Djimi Traore can win the Champions League, anybody can do it

3-0 down at half-time to a formidable AC Milan outfit in the final of the Champions League, Liverpool were totally down and out. Finished. Demolished. The gulf in quality between the two teams was frightening. Kaka was running riot and goals from Paolo Maldini and Hernan Crespo cast the two teams apart in the Ataturk Stadium, Istanbul. Sections of the Liverpool support streamed out onto the streets of Istanbul, all hope was lost - Liverpool simply did not have enough quality in their ranks to overturn this scoreline. Djimi Traore was on the pitch for heaven's sake. Then came one of the most incredible halves of football ever witnessed as the Reds somehow managed to claw their way back into the encounter, inspired by captain Steven Gerrard and a masterful tactical switch from Mr. Benitez. In an utterly chaotic and mesmerising eight-minute spell, Liverpool rose from the depths of oblivion and goals from Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso got the reds back on level terms. It was one way traffic from that point on, mind you - and Liverpool had Jerzy Dudek to thank, after the Pole pulled off the one of the greatest double save's ever seen before his wobbly-legged heroics in the penalty shoot out ensured his side won their 5th European Cup. The heroes that contributed to this achievement will occupy legendary status for eternity, but where are the Liverpool players who conquered Europe now?
