Loic Remy To Join Spurs For £11 Million
Queens Park Rangers set to join the White Hart Lane club.
Daily Star, French international striker Loic Remy could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur from Queens Park Rangers for £11 million. Remy was set to join Liverpool last month, but a move fell through when he failed his medical due to injury. Liverpool were only set to pay £8.5 million for the player, but that was due to a clause in his contract which cited that any Champions League club could purchase him for that price. Spurs, however, finished sixth last season and are only in the Europa League and would have to pay a premium as a result - £2.5 million more than the Anfield club would have paid. Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is in charge at Loftus Road and wants to keep the pacy goalscorer at the club, but Spurs hope they can tempt him into a deal and may offer just cash or players plus money, with Michael Dawson, Andros Townsend or Tom Carroll touted as potential makeweights in the deal. Remy scored 14 goals in 24 Premier League starts last season whilst on loan at Newcastle United and would give Spurs the proven consistent top flight goalscorer that they have been craving for some time. Interestingly, Spurs play host to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday and it will be intriguing to see if Remy plays for Rangers against his potential new club. Would Remy be a good signing for Spurs?
