Man City Transfer News: Mancini Keen On Scott Sinclair?
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini wants to make Swansea midfielder Scott Sinclair his first summer signing.
At this level of football and with the transfer money which could come in with players leaving in the final year of their contract, we wouldnt want to go down that route again of allowing a player to let his contract run out again. With Scott being a first-team regular we need a decision one way or the other as soon as possible so the manager can be clear in his mind on where the team goes and make sure the squad is right for August. It is believed that City would first have to make room in their midfield before any such transfer, with Adam Johnson possibly one of those to lose out. Sinclair spent five years on the books at Chelsea between 2005-10, but during that time, he found himself loaned out six times to Plymouth, QPR, Charlton, Crystal Palace, Birmingham and Wigan. He made only five appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit, before signing for Swansea on August 9th 2010 for £500,000. He helped the Swans to promotion by scoring a hat-trick in the 2011 Play-Off Final as Swansea won 42 over Reading to become the first Welsh club to compete in the Premier League. Sinclair scored Swansea's first ever Premier League goal on 17 September 2011 in a 30 win against West Brom. His girlfriend is former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, who played popular Rosie Webster in the soap.
