BBC Sport. Jovetic, 23, had attracted interested from Manchester United and Arsenal this summer but a move to Eastlands now looks certain. The striker is being lined up to replace Carlos Tevez, who joined Juventus for £10 million earlier in this transfer window. The Montenegro international was in solid form last season in Serie A, scoring 13 goals in 31 games for his club. The striker has also notched up 27 caps, scoring 10 goals. In what has been a very busy transfer window already, last year€™s Premier League runners-up have already completed the signings of Fernandinho, Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo, costing the club well over £80 million. Newly appointed manager, Manuel Pellegrini stressed the need for another striker in an interview with Sky Sports News last week, he said:

"We have two strikers at the moment and we need another one. I won't name names at the moment. We need two players in every position and we will try to do our best to get them."
Manchester City will now have secured two strikers and two midfielders suggesting that the next time The Citzens open the cheque book it will be for a defender. The club suffered their second pre-season defeat having lost 2-0 to SuperSport United on Sunday and being beaten 2-1 by AmaZulu on Thursday. Manuel Pellegrini has already left the tour and travelled to Chile, although this is believed to be for personal reasons.
