Man City Transfers: 5 Players Who Must Be Sold

5. Jason Denayer

Belgian defender Jason Denayer is yet to make a single first team appearance for Manchester City, despite being at the club since 2013. Highly rated in his youth, Denayer is a full Belgium international, even making it into the squad for Euro 2016 and playing in the quarter final clash with Wales.

At club level, he's been loaned out to various clubs over the last few years, enjoying a fine spell at Celtic in the 2014-15 season, scoring five league goals and even winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award. It was expected that the Belgian would push on from there and perhaps make the breakthrough at City or seal a move elsewhere, but it hasn't quite worked out for him.

He won the Turkish top flight with Galatasary last season and is regarded as a dependable defender with a keen eye for a pass, but has very little hope of ever actually turning out in sky blue at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City have record-breaking signing Aymeric Laporte, as well as club legend Vincent Kompany, John Stones, and Nicolas Otamendi to fill out their central defensive spots. Denayer is surplus to requirements but could do a job at a mid-to-lower table side in the Premier League.
