Manchester United are in the market for a new winger this summer following ineffectual campaigns for Ashley Young, Luis Nani, Antonio Valencia and Wilfried Zaha. Young in particular was a disappointment, with his performances so poor he didn't even make England manager Roy Hodgson's 23-man World Cup squad, while Nani has had seven seasons to live up to his potential and has failed to do so. Valencia meanwhile has never been the same player since breaking his leg against Rangers in 2010, and it remains to be seen if Zaha has a future at the club after spending all of last season on loan at Cardiff. United need a new, high-quality wide man in their midfield and have been linked with Real Madrid's Angel di Maria this summer. Di Maria is set to become surplus to requirements at Real following the big-money signing of James Rodriguez from Monaco and has been tipped to leave the Bernabeu. If the Red Devils are truly interested though they may have to break the British transfer record to get the deal done. Paris Saint Germain are also keen, and have already set the bidding at £50 million. United will have to dig deep if they are to rival the French champions.
