Ajax youngster Viktor Fischer has joined the likes of Luka Modric and Yohan Cabaye on Sir Alex Fergusons summer transfer list. According to the Dutch source Sport 1, Manchester United are set to make an £8.8 million bid for the 17-year-old. The teenager is close to breaking into Ajaxs first team after his impressive display at NextGen, a tournament where the best teams in the world showcase their future talent. Viktor Fischer was extremely impressive at the competition scoring 7 goals and finishing the joint top goalscorer. Manchester United have sent several scouts to monitor the young centre forward who has received glowing reports. The Danish under-19 international has also been labelled as having the potential to be as good if not better than Ajaxs own Christian Eriksen who is set to play at Euro 2012 this summer. It seem Manchester United want to begin the race for the young striker with a solid bid that Ajax couldnt reject. Reports suggest that United are willing to splash the cash, as he is seen as a hot prospect for the future. Its well known that Sir Alex is building a squad for the future with David de Gea, Phil Jones and Javier Hernandez all recently joining the club in the last few seasons and all under the age of 25. If Ferguson manages to secure the deal, he would look to introduce the player in first team games for the 2013/14 season.
