The summer transfer window has slammed shut and Manchester United now have to lie in the bed they've made. United spent over £150 million on new players in the market that has just closed as manager Louis van Gaal desperately attempts to slam the breaks on their worrying slide in form. There will be no further opportunity to strengthen his ailing side until January and when the Premier League resumes after the international break we will see just how successful his summer signings are. Six new players have come in - Luke Shaw, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo, Angel Di Maria, Daley Blind and Radamel Falcao - but some fans still feel the real problem areas of central defence and midfield have gone unaddressed. We will soon find out if this is the case. For all the hype, drama and hysteria off the pitch over the summer transfer window, now is not the time for chequebooks and photographs with cheesy smiles. Now is the time to take to the pitch and for the newly-acquired stars to go out and prove they're worth the money their club paid for them. But where will United's 'new team' finish in the league come the end of the season? A lot of money has been spent rebuilding the squad that crawled to a seventh place finish last term while flops such as Tom Cleverley, Nani and Danny Welbeck are gone. Can the likes of Di Maria and Falcao fire them back to the heights they're accustomed too, or will they struggle through another difficult campaign? Let us know in our poll, below, and as ever, share your thoughts in the comments thread.
