Manchester United's summer pursuit of a new striker to replace the departed Radamel Falcao has so far led them to Harry Kane and Mario Mandzukic. However, now it seems that Louis van Gaal also has eyes for Everton's powerhouse Belgian forward, Romelu Lukaku. According to a report by The Sun, United are showing interest in the 22-year-old, who is still thought to be unsettled at Goodison Park and considering his future. Lukaku has previously aired grievances about not always being deployed in his preferred position by Toffees' boss Roberto Martinez, as well as insisting he has ambitions to return to a big club and start collecting silverware before long. "I want to win titles, not just be shadowing at the top. I want to know how it feels to play in the big games. I'm 22. It€™s time to win trophies," he said earlier this year. Everton smashed their transfer record to buy Lukaku from Chelsea for £28m last summer. The former teenage prodigy had impressed on loan at the Merseyside club in 2013/14, but struggled to find his best form after the move had been made permanent. He still managed to score 20 goals in all competitions though, netting as many as eight times in the Europa League alone. Relations between Old Trafford and Goodison Park still remain strained following David Moyes' move between the clubs in 2013 and if Everton do reluctantly decide to sell Lukaku, they would most likely insist on making a profit on their outlay.
