According to Sky in Italy, Manchester United have rejected a sensational swap deal for Paul Pogba by Barcelona. Barca offered £45million plus defender Yerry Mina and midfielder Andre Gomes for the World Cup winning playmaker, but the Red Devils turned it down.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola had allegedly travelled to Manchester in order to force through a move to the Catalonian club, however United are keen to retain Pogba's services ahead of the forthcoming season, which begins with them hosting Leicester City on Friday night.

The 25-year-old has three years left on his contract at Old Trafford, having signed for a then-world record fee of £93.25m in 2016, but has failed to live up to expectations and clashed with manager Jose Mourinho regarding his performances.

United have been linked with a move for Mina over the summer after he impressed at the World Cup for Colombia, whilst Gomes was rumoured to be signing for West Ham having failed to nail down a spot in Barcelona's starting XI.

The Spanish transfer window closes on 31st August but the Premier League deadline is Thursday, leaving United little time to replace star man Pogba should Barcelona get their man.
