Man Utd Transfer News: Marouane Fellaini Hands In Transfer Request

By Edward Owen /

Manchester United target Marouane Fellaini has handed in a transfer request, announcing his intention to leave Everton and potentially set up a reunion with David Moyes, reports Independent. The Belgian international has been the subject of interest from Manchester United for the past month, beginning with a joint bid of £28 million for both Fellaini and England left-back Leighton Baines up until a reported £24 million bid earlier today. Everton have been reluctant to sell the 25-year-old and their position has been hardened after the Toffees' move for Porto midfielder Fernando broke down. Yet now the saga has taken a dramatic new twist with Fellaini handing in a transfer request following a meeting with manager Roberto Martinez at Everton's Finch Farm training base. Photos were later taken from outside the complex of a figure - reportedly Fellaini - leaving Finch Farm in a vehicle with blacked-out windows, with United's Carrington training ground rumoured to be the car's most likely destination. Fellani's late dash to Carrington could be the first of a triple signing, with the Red Devils considering triggering the £30.5 million release clause on the contract of Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera and entering the market for Real Madrid's Sami Khedira.
