The Sun, Manchester United and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the signing of Barcelona€™s Cesc Fabregas. The former Arsenal captain, 26, joined the Spanish champions in August 2011 but persisting rumours are suggesting the midfielder could make a sensational return to the Premier League this summer. New Manchester United manager, David Moyes, is determined to sign the Spaniard this summer and will compete in a bidding war with Arsene Wenger to bring Fabregas back to England. It is believed that Manchester United are willing to spend up to £40 million on Fabregas, a fee that Arsenal would likely match. The Gunners also reportedly have first refusal on his signature, stemming from the sale of the player. Fabregas has stated that he wants to fight for his place at the Nou camp despite the La Liga champions having spent £50 million on Brazilian youngster Neymar, adding another world class player to compete for just 11 starting birth at the Catalan giants. Manchester United are on the look out for another midfielder with Paul Scholes having retired, whilst Arsenal have creatively never been the same since Fabregas left. Featuring in 32 La Liga games for the champions this season, Fabregas has scored an impressive tally of eleven goals. With Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney rumoured to be leaving Old Trafford this summer, any money United receive from the deal could be used to fund a swoop for Barcelona€™s number four.
