Man Utd Transfer News: Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye Wants Old Trafford Move
Canal+, the 27-year-old French international claimed he would welcome a move to Old Trafford, should any interest from the Red Devils come his way. He said;
"Yes of course. I've liked this club for a long time, I like what they do," he told Canal+. "The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor and he did some good things with Everton. "They are always well played among the big clubs. Yes for sure, it would be an interesting challenge."New Manchester United boss David Moyes is believed to be on the hunt for a new central midfielder following the retirement of veteran Paul Scholes and Cabaye's reputation as one of the league's best creative central midfielders could interest the former Everton manager. Media reports in recent weeks have also spoken of interest in Cabaye from his homeland in France, something the Toon midfielder claims to know nothing about;
"I have no direct contact with anyone; maybe my agents are currently in the know. "As for me, I am here listening. I like England as well. I will need to look at the situation but you never know."Speaking as a Newcastle United fan, for all of Cabaye's obvious talents and ability, his performances and desire to fight towards the end of last season were non-existent. Ever since he became the "acting" captain in the absence of Fabricio Coloccini, he looked anything like a leader on the pitch and if The Magpies were sinking like the Titanic towards the end of the last campaign, Cabaye had taken a lifeboat before the club even hit the iceberg and was nowhere to be seen during its do-or-die games. Should an offer of double figures for Cabaye come in, owner Mike Ashley and manager Alan Pardew should snap their hands off and re-invest the money on as smart a replacement as his original signing.
