Manchester United are to make an audacious move to snatch Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin from under the noses of bitter Premier League rivals Arsenal. Caught Offside claims that Fergie "is set to enter the race" for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder who had looked certain to join Arsenal on a season long loan deal after Madrid boss Jose Mourinho admitted that he was open to allowing the Turkish international to leave the Bernabeu this summer. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has struggled to become a first team regular in La Liga, making only four appearances since he joined Madrid in an £8 million move last summer. After finding it nearly impossible to break into Madrid's title winning side and get ahead of the likes of Mesut Ozil, Kaka, Xabi Alonso and Esteban Granero, presumably he would be pleased by the opportunity of a new start in the Premier League. Whilst Arsenal are looking at a temporary deal, Caught Offside reports that United could well make a £18 million bid for Nahin to permanently bring him to Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson's Red Devils have been linked with numerous attacking midfielders over the summer and after the club's chief operating officer Michael Bolingbroke revealed earlier in the week, Fergie has so far just spent around £20 million of the £40 million he has to spend this summer. Will he use a large chunk of that on a move for Sahin?
