Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils Make £30 Million Cesc Fabregas Bid
BBC. The Premier League champions confirmed a £25 million bid last Monday and have now made a revised offer, with executive vice chairman Ed Woodward leaving the club's pre-season tour of Asia and Australia to negotiate the deal. New United manager David Moyes has confirmed the latest bid. Speaking at a press conference in Yokohama, Moyes said:
"As I understand it, Ed had a response . "We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me."The Scot, who has replaced the retired Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, continued:
"When you're interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise and I'll do that. I hope things can continue and move forward. "At this moment in time I can only tell you that Ed is working hard trying to make the deals happen. We can only hope that some of them fall into place shortly."Fabregas is a product of Barcelona's famous La Masia youth academy and signed for United's domestic rivals Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2003, becoming their youngest ever player. He developed as one of the North Londoner's key players and would later become captain in November 2008. The 26-year-old spent eight years with the Gunners, and established himself as one of the club's brightest creative forces, providing 100 assist in 303 games. He was also a member of the Arsenal squad that won the FA Cup Final against Manchester United on penalties in 2005, the last time the club won a trophy. He returned to Barcelona in the summer of 2011 in a £25.4 million deal, and helped the Catalans win the Copa del Rey in 2011-12 and La Liga in 2012-13.
