Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils To Double Cesc Fabregas's Wages

By Matt Robinson /

Sunday Mirror, Manchester United are set to double the wages of Cesc Fabregas in hopes they can lure the former Arsenal player to Old Trafford. Fabregas, 26, joined from Arsenal to Barcelona in 2011 for a fee of ‚29 million but newly appointed Manchester United manager, David Moyes, has already confirmed United€™s interest in the midfielder as the club continue their search for Paul Scholes€™ replacement. A Spanish source said:

€œManchester United are deadly serious about signing Fabregas and have made a second bid. There is a lot of uncertainty at Barcelona at the moment and it is hard to predict what will happen.€ €œBut one thing is for sure and that is that Fabregas could earn a lot more money by joining United."
The current Premier League champions have already had one bid rejected by Barcelona but Moyes€™ no secret attitude with the media has already revealed The Red Devils have made an improved bid despite the player reportedly being €œnon-transferable€. The wanted Spaniard is already on a £100,000-a-week deal at the Nou Camp but United are willing to double that in order to line him up with former teammate Robin van Persie. With Barcelona having already sold Thiago Alcantara to Bayern Munich, the Spanish side will likely want to keep Cesc at the club especially due to his proven performances. The midfielder played started 41 games for his club last season, proving that despite the talent of Xavi and Inesita in the squad, Cesc is still a clear part of Barcelona€™s campaigns. David Moyes seems confident in his managerial ability to lure big signings to Old Trafford and despite Cesc Fabregas telling Barcelona he wants to stay at the La Liga champions, reports suggest that United could persuade the midfielder to return to England.
