Man Utd Transfer News: Red Devils To Fight For Robert Lewandowski?
Express. Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer of the Polish international, who has been a huge success in the Bundesliga in recent seasons, netting 30 goals in the last campaign and 31 so far this season. Ferguson believes the 24-year old will improve his Premier League champions, but admitted he would struggle to make room for the marksman in a side already bustling with strikers. United have Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie and clearly something has to give if the Red Devils are to sign a fifth forward. Ferguson admitted:
"Big signings? You are normally talking about forwards but it's complicated enough as it is with the forwards I've got."Speaking ahead of last night's Premier League-clinching win over Aston Villa at Old Trafford, a win which secured an unprecedented 20th title, Ferguson said of his interest in Lewandowski:
"Yeah, but Bayern Munich are strong with that too. We just have to wait and see where we are in terms of if we win the league. Then it may be different."Now that United have won the league, they may find themselves in pole position to sign the former Lech Pozna star. Any such move for Lewandowski could reunite him with former team-mate Shinji Kagawa at the Theatre of Dreams. The Japanese midfielder moved from Borussia Dortmund last season having spent two seasons with the German club.
