Man Utd Transfer News: Strootman To Snub £10 Million Old Trafford Move

By Matt Robinson /

TalkSport, Manchester United summer target Kevin Strootman has snubbed a move to Old Trafford by committing himself to another season at PSV Eindhoven. PSV€™s technical manager has confirmed that Strootman will stay in Holland for at least another season. He said:

€œ Strootman we do not want to lose. He also knows himself that he will play at PSV for another season."
The 23-year-old has been rumoured all summer with a move to the Premier League champions but any potential deal will now be put on hold for at least a year. The Dutch star was reportedly being lined up with a £10 million move to Old Trafford and with having played in 35 games last season, interest from United had been high. Strootman has already received 18 caps for his country and has proven he can battle the best. Newly appointed Manchester United boss, David Moyes has found himself needing another midfielder but with Strootman now unavailable, the former Everton manager may have to put all his effort into securing a deal with Barcelona for youngster Thiago Alcantara. United are desperate for another midfielder with Paul Scholes having retired and Darren Fletcher only just recovered from injury, leaving just Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverly to hold the midfield. Moyes has had a fairly rough start to his United managerial career, with Strootman and Leighton Baines now looking unavailable and with the Scot forced to begin discussions with unhappy striker, Wayne Rooney, Moyes has a lot to deal with in the next few weeks.
