Man Utd Transfer News: Vidic Going Nowhere

By Simon Gallagher /

Daily Mail, Manchester United centre-half Nemanja Vidic will not leave last season's Premier League runners-up to join either Juventus or Barcelona when the transfer window reopens in January, despite what they suggest as further speculation that the Serbia international defender is set to leave Old Trafford. The 30-year-old United captain is currently injured, sidelined for eight weeks after a new operation according to the Mail, having spent five months of last season through injury, and is expected to return to the first-team before the New Year. Despite the quoted interest, Vidic's Italian agent Silvano Martina says the defender is not on his way out of Old Trafford when the window opens:

"Vidic is not playing at this time because he€™s had surgery, so he€™s only thinking about his recovery and not about the transfer market. Juventus are complete with their non-EU players for this season and it is highly unlikely they will make a bid for Vidic, therefore I can categorically rule out any interest from them. Vidic is already part of a top club and there are no negotiations with Juventus or Barcelona."
The former Red Star Belgrade and Spartak Moscow defender has made 248 appearances for the Manchester giants, since joining in 2005, captaining the side since the start of the 2010/11 season when he took over from Gary Neville. Since the early days of his career in England, Vidic has been an imperious influence on the pitch, and United look weaker when he isn't in the side. What do you think Man Utd fans? Are you happy to see Vidic apparently pledging his immediate future to the club? Share your thoughts below.
