But that might not be a possible scenario anymore. Ferguson is understood to be willing to keep the player at Old Trafford after the signing, but for Palace that is a different matter entirely. They are 4th in the Championship at the moment, just two points adrift of second placed Leicester, and do not want to sell one of their key players as they battle for promotion to the Premier League. United might instead have to loan out one or two of their fringe players in order to find a way around the issue.
