Man Utd Transfers: 10 Deals That Should Happen In January

8. Mateo Kovacic IN

Manchester United are said to be interested in adding another wonderkid to their ranks in Inter Milan creator Mateo Kovacic, according to reports. Kovacic, whose current deal runs until 2017, allegedly turned down the opportunity to extend his contract until 2019, catching the attention of many European clubs. Despite being an integral part of Roberto Mancini€™s side, the Express suggests he could be allowed to leave for as little as £10million. However, anyone who has seen the young Croatian pulling the strings in midfield for club or country should be mystified by the prospect of Inter selling one of their brightest stars for so little compensation. Kovacic could easily slot into any central position in the United midfield, but given Inter€™s injury problems, Inter would demand big bucks, particularly this winter, to part with a player who has the potential to lead their midfield for years to come. With that said, the Croatian might be tempted by a Premier League offer if the 2009-10 Champions League winners fail to return to the heights they reached only a few seasons ago. Regardless of when, or if, that happens, Kovacic certainly won€™t go for pittance. Probability: 4/10
