Man Utd Transfers: 10 Players Jose Mourinho Should Sign This Summer
10. Sergio Agüero
Pep Guardiola chose the final day of the 2016/17 campaign to confirm that Sergio Agüero will still be a Manchester City player for the foreseeable future.
The Argentinian international's awkward season under the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager led many to believe he would seek pastures new. Despite his status as the club's most crucial player across several tumultuous and largely successful seasons, Guardiola and his staff seemed to struggle slotting the goalscorer into the system they attempted to force through.
His 33 goals across all competitions for City last season bettered his record the previous term, yet Guardiola still appeared to favour Gabriel Jesus as a longterm solution to the club's perceived problems up front.
Agüero's fitness has been routinely called into question, with the striker often amassing a hatful of goals despite struggling with several injuries over his six years with the club.
However, at only 29, his consistency in front of goal still commands him a place in one of the world's top sides, and a move across Manchester could be a huge statement of intent from Mourinho for the league season ahead.
