By Andrew Temperley /

Wayne Rooney signed a new five and a half year deal at Old Trafford last week to signal an end to months of speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea. The Englishman's signature has not come without a hefty price, with his contract reported to be in the region of £300,000 per week, or around £85 million in total. However, his stats over the last couple of years would suggest otherwise and there is a growing number who believe that we may have seen the best of a player who prompted Alex Ferguson to shell out around £27m for back in 2004. To celebrate Wayne earning another £300 in the time it has taken to write this introduction, we've put together a list of four players Moyes could have bought with Rooney's wages.
