Rumours have surfaced left, right and centre in recent weeks that the Madrid forward has had enough of life in Spain and wants to return to United, something of which Sir Alex Ferguson poured cold water over earlier today. And we are inclined to agree that any such return, alebeit sensational, would be incredibly unlikely. Manchester United fans should savour the sight of Ronaldo gracing the Theatre of Dreams tomorrow night because we believe it is the last time it will happen for a good while. 5. United Would Be Out-Muscled In Transfer Market

Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United for a second spell before calling time on his storied career sounds like a plot from a fairy tale, yet the reality of the situation is a lot more hard hitting. The Portuguese' has always talked up his former club and has never once had a negative thing to say about his six-year stay in England, but in the modern-day world of football, money talks and there is little room for sentimentality. If Ronaldo were to be made available, United would not be the only interested party. The likes of mega-rich Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with him in the past, and any one of them could out-muscle United in the transfer market with consummate ease. Yes, United do have the "nostalgia factor" on their side, and would be an obvious destination for the player should he decide to leave Madrid, but his head could very easily be turned by the offer of twice as much money.
