Despite reports that Man City had a private jet waiting at Nice airport ready to fly Falcao over to England to join them, it looks like both they and Arsenal have been pipped to the signing of the Colombian by Manchester United. According to Sky Sports' resident Spanish expert Guillem Balague, United have already agreed a £65m deal to sign the striker from Monaco, and he will definitely be joining Louis Van Gaal's revolution at Old Trafford. At the minute there is some confusion as the Press Association are suggesting that it would still be a £20m loan deal. Sky Sports also suggest that the deal is in fact a loan deal, and not a permanent one. Eventually someone will presumably seek actual confirmation from the club. Falcao had looked like he was about to join Real Madrid a couple of days ago after announcing it on his Twitter, but now it seems like he has snubbed City to join United, without the promise of Champions League football. The deal will be a great lift for United, though they need a lot more than a striker if their early season form is anything to go by. And if Falcao has turned down City in the process of choosing United, that can only be a good thing for fans. The agreement took place at 3am this morning, and Falcao will now be on his way to Manchester United to complete his move before the end of the transfer window.
