Man Utd Transfers: Bale, Neymar, Ronaldo & Kane On Staggering Wishlist
Red Devils on the trail of £400m hot-list.
Hold on to your butts, United fans, as the Sun seem to think your team is about to whip up a frenzy in world football with a spending spree to end them all. According to them, Edward Woodward has a wishlist that includes some of world football's biggest names, including Gareth Bale, Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane and Thomas Muller. The figure they've put down for that ridiculous list is nearly £400 million. FOUR HUNDRED MILLION. A good slice of that would be needed to bring in Neymar, who is "valued at £112m" - in the Sun's words - but has a release clause of £144m. Not unreasonably: might as well sign two of him. Then there's wages to consider, and the fact that if he doesn't work out, you're going to immediately become a much bigger laughing stock than Chelsea and Liverpool and their hilarious Andy Carroll/Fernando Torres related situation. The rest of the money breaks down as follows for the Sun - Harry Kane is valued at £68m, but has the Euros ahead where he might be proclaimed the greatest player ever. By the Sun, probably. Then there's Ronaldo, who is on the verge of turning 31 and is apparently "on the downward trajectory of his career" having only scored 61 goals last year. Not sure how he sleeps at night. There's no mention of how much they think he might cost on the back of that, but they do mention that PSG are sniffing around. The same goes for Gareth Bale, who was linked with a move away from the Bernabeu in the wake of Rafa Benitez's sacking this week, and Thomas Muller, who is the fifth dominant world star on the Sun's mega-list. Added together, he would bring the money up to £392m - or roughly the same amount Stoke spend in the last five minutes of every transfer window. At the end of all that, the Sun say that "all of the above are understood to be either staying put or heading to other clubs at the moment", to no doubt cover for when they don't sign. But it was nice while it lasted. Which of these players would you most want to see sign for United? Share your picks below in the comments.
