After weeks of negotiations, an agreement has finally been reached to take Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

The BBC is reporting that a £74 million fee has been agreed between the two clubs, which is just shy of the £75 million United paid Everton for the powerhouse forward two years ago.

Lukaku and his agent Federico Pastorello flew to Milan yesterday to iron out personal terms, and it now looks as if the Belgium international’s time at Old Trafford is at an end.

Antonio Conte’s Inter had previously offered £54 million for the player last month, although that offer was rebuffed by the Red Devils as they looked to hold out for a fee closer to what they’d paid Everton for the former Chelsea man.

After that initial Inter Milan offer was turned down, it looked as if the Belgian could find himself playing for Juventus this season after a swap deal was mooted with The Old Lady’s Paulo Dybala. That deal, though, was dead in the water as soon as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side sensed that the Argentine – who has now been linked with a move to Spurs – wasn’t really all that keen on a move to Manchester.

For United, the BBC claims that they still have an interest in Juve’s Mario Mandzukic and reports last night claim that the club could even active the £81 million release clause of Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams.
