Man Utd: Wayne Rooney's 5 Greatest Goals From His 200

By Joseph Dempsey /

Last night, Wayne Rooney took his goals tally for Manchester United to the 200 mark, becoming only the fourth player in the famous club's history to have done so. The milestone came as the England international scored a brace in the comfortable 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and puts him just 11 strikes behind the legendary Jack Rowley. Rooney is also 37 goals away from equalling Dennis Law's record as United's second-highest goalscorer and 49 away from tying with the saintly Sir Bobby Charlton. And Red Devils manager David Moyes believes the former Everton man can become an all-time great at the Theatre of Dreams. With the striker still relatively young at 27, there is every possibility he will go on to break all kinds of records at Old Trafford and overtake Charlton, a feat many once thought would never be accomplished. Of course, for that to happen, United must retain the services of a player who has been frequently linked with a move to rivals Chelsea over the course of the next few transfer windows. And if they do, Rooney could be mentioned in the same breath as Law and Charlton. To celebrate his accomplishments so far, here, we take a look at Wayne Rooney's 5 Greatest Goals.
