The Sun. The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder was one of City€™s key men last season, scoring six goals and assisting 18 times in 36 league appearances. Silva spoke of his joy at signing a new contract with the club:

€œI€™m very pleased because I€™ve been here for two years now and I feel very happy here. So now I€™m delighted to be extending my contract and being here really does feel just like home for me.€
He added:
€œWe€™ve won the Premier League title and two other trophies too and the team is growing. We are now aiming at the Champions League and so that also is another reason to want to stay here and try and win it.€
Silva could start against Real Madrid in Manchester City€™s first Champions League group tonight and whilst Silva may want to win the European prize, City manager Robert Mancini will be hoping that he can successfully guide the team to the knockout phase. Manchester City€™s group, which has been labelled €˜the group of death€™, includes Real Madrid, Dortmund and Ajax who are all tough oppositions for the Premier League champions. City€™s strike force is easily one of the strongest in the Champions League so it's understandable why David Silva thinks the club can go all the way.
