Newcastle: 5 Things For Alan Pardew To Take Onboard

By Ray McCartney /

clear the air talks with owner Mike Ashley over the last few days, Pardew has hopped on a plane for his Summer holidays, which he no doubt feels is more than needed! Ater scooping two managerial awards last season Pardew and Newcastle have had what can only be described as an abysmal campaign this year. Although I am a fan of Pardew and never did want to see him leave, some fans did and in this day and age of manager sackings left, right and centre, Pardew should feel very thankful to still be in employment. Amazingly he is now the second longest serving manager in the league (although Sir. Alex Ferguson and David Moyes both left their respective clubs and weren't sacked). Mike Ashley learned the hard way when he first arrived at St James' Park, soon realising the passion and pride supporters take in their club. His no-nonsense approach in dismantling a squad, a renaming of the ground among other mistakes all opened his eyes to what will and will not be tolerated on Tyneside. So the fact that he has not given in to certain sections of fans baying for Pardew's blood could not of been an easy, nor a clean cut decision. Below are five of the topics that need to be addressed or experience gained from. You may agree with one or two, maybe all. Or maybe none at all, so let me know your thoughts.
