Newcastle AGREE Deal For PSV Midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum
The Magpies are finally close to breaking their summer transfer duck.
"Georginio Wijnaldum has the players leaving hotel in France. PSV nears an agreement with Newcastle United and has Wijnaldum. "Given his personal permission to conclude negotiations and to undergo an inspection."What's more, Brands told PSV's official website:
"Georginio Wijnaldum has left the players' hotel in Evian-les-Bains. "The 24-year-old captain is on his way to England to reach a personal agreement there with Newcastle United."The deal needs to be ratified by the PSV board on Friday morning, but the fee is essentially agreed. Sunderland, Manchester United, Everton, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain had all previously been credited with an interest in Wijnaldum, but it now appears Newcastle have won the race - as long as the player agree to the deal. The midfielder has already been capped 18 times by Holland, scoring twice, and is regarded as one of the most-promising players in Europe due to the fact he has a habit of regularly finding the back of the net. Furthermore, the 24-year-old has already won three trophies with PSV and has made 152 appearances, scoring an impressive 56 times from midfield and contributing 23 assists, since moving there from Feyenoord in 2011. The midfielder also netted for Holland during the 3-0 third-place play-off win over Brazil at last years World Cup.
