The Danish International featured 15 times since his arrival at Bremen during the turn of the year and scored one goal.
He also captained Denmark throughout the European U21 competition this summer and proved himself as a talented, mature centre-back as well as a natural leader.
The 22-year-old scored in his sides opening game of the tournament against Czech Republic and was a constant threat in the opposition box using his tall frame to his advantage.

The German domestic season starts again this Sunday and Vestergaard played the full 90 minutes and extra time as Werder Bremen overcame Wurzberger Kickers in their DFB cup-tie last weekend.
