Newcastle: Can Someone Check Facundo Ferreyra's Alright?

Where is he?

By Simon Gallagher /

What exactly was the point of signing Facundo Ferreyra on loan? The Argentian, who jumped ship from Shakhtar Donetsk amid concerns over the Ukrainian political upheaval was brought in as striking cover, but has so far been conspicuously absent from pretty much every team sheet since the summer. Is he terrible? Is he the laziest trainer in the history of Newcastle? Why isn't anyone at the club talking about him? He's playing reserve games - we know this because he's scored - but even in a third string starting line up in the League Cup, he can't even make it onto the bench. It's not like we can even assess him as a first team option, as he's not even getting a sniff. So to reiterate, why the hell is he at the club? Seriously, if you were him, would you sit around waiting to get a chance behind Papiss Cisse, Emmanuel Riviere, Ayoze Perez, and Adam Armstrong?
