Newcastle Join Premier League Rivals In Hunt For Bosnia Midfielder
But it looks like Italy could be his actual destination...
The Express claim Susic is close to moving to either Napoli or Bologna this summer, but that the four Premier League clubs who hold an interest in him are trying to hijack the potential transfer to Serie A. In fact, the Magpies supposedly had a £3.5 million bid ready for Susic all the way back in January, but that it was never lodged. Speaking to Calciomercato, the player's father and agent, Sead Susic, said of the 23-year-old:
Newcastle United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to bring Hadjuk Split midfielder Tino-Sven Susic to England - although the Bosnia and Herzegovina international would prefer to head to Italy. "I think he will play in Italy next season. "It's a possibility. The clubs interested in him are Napoli and Bologna."The 6ft 1in midfielder made his debut for Croatian side Hadjuk Split in 2012 and he has amassed 98 appearances in all competitions since, scoring on 12 occasions. As well as claiming the Croatian Cup in 2013 with his club side, Susic has also been capped eight times at full international level by Bosnia and Herzegovina. Interestingly, the midfielder did play for both the Belgium Under-18 and Under-19 sides before committing to the country of his birth - he was born in Sarajevo - after progressing through Genk and then Standard Liege's youth ranks before moving to Hadjuk.
