Newcastle "Still In Transfer Market For One Or Two Players", Claims McClaren

McClaren says the Toon's summer transfer dealings might not be finished quite yet...

Newcastle United are "never finished" in a transfer window until it closes - and the Magpies are still in the market for "one or two more" players, claims Steve McClaren. The Magpies head coach watched his side succumb to a 2-0 loss at Swansea City at the weekend, their seventh away defeat in succession, and has admitted he is "looking" for further additions to his squad. Georginio Wijnaldum, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Chancel Mbemba are the three first-team players the Magpies have already recruited this summer, but McClaren is not ruling out further arrivals - if they are the "right ones".

Speaking after the defeat at the Liberty Stadium, McClaren said (Shields Gazette):
"We€™ve never finished (in the transfer market) until the window closes. "Who knows? At the moment we€™ve just signed three so we€™ve settled down. We then need to look at the first few games. Unfortunately, I€™ve learnt nothing today. "Any good manager will tell you he€™s always looking for players. We€™d love one or two more but they€™ve got to be the right ones and if they are, I€™m sure we€™ll be in the market for them. "At the moment it€™s Manchester United next week."
