Carlos Bacca could be on his way to Newcastle United after the Europa League winner is reportedly open to a move away from Sevilla. The striker, who scored two goals to lead Los Rojiblancos to a 3-2 win over Dnipro last month, has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after becoming one of the leading lights in Spain. His performance in the Europa League final capped off a wonderful season for the Columbian where he scored 20 goals and created 28 chances in 37 La Liga appearances, firing Sevilla to a fifth-placed finish. However, Magpies fans shouldn't be getting their hopes up about this one as the forward is 28-years-old and has a reported £14 million price tag slapped on his head. He isn't the type of signing Mike Ashley would allow. Saying that, a signing like this would add a tonne of credibility to that interview the owner did before the West Ham game on the final day of the Premier League season. The rumour of a move to The Magpies has come about after Bacca's agent spoke to The Sun, claiming that his man is open to a move away from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Sergio Barila said: First of all we have to talk to Sevilla out of respect for the club. If the player is put on the market, theres a chance he will leave. Carlos would like to stay in Europe and next year Sevilla are in the Champions League which hes happy about because he wants to play in it. He is fine here with his family but if theres a good opportunity for Bacca and Sevilla, we will take it into consideration. For now I cannot say if hell leave or not, I must first consult with the directors. For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow whatculture.com/NUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
