"He's a player who's going on loan. If you were buying Loïc Rémy for £8 million, which there were clubs to buy him for, if you gave him a four-year contract and he ran that down and was a free agent, he'd cost you £2m-a-year. If somebody wants to loan him they'd be entitled to pay £2m for him."
Newcastle United have been keen to take the French striker to St James€™ Park this summer following QPR€™s relegation from the Premier League. The player had already turned down a move to The Magpies back in January in favour of a move to London where he joined Rednapp's side for a club record £8 million from Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille. The 26-year old French international made an impressive start to his career in England, scoring 6 goals in 14 appearances for the Rs, but was unable to save them from relegation to the Championship. His manager Harry Redknapp believes a full season in the Premier League would see Rémy finish amongst the top scorers:
"They would be getting a striker that would be getting 15-20 goals next year in the Premier League. He is a top class player. He could play for anybody in the Premier in my opinion."
Meanwhile Newcastle United are being reported to be making progress on the signing of Lyon striker Bafetimi Gomis after a fee and terms were said to have been agreed over a move to St. James' Park.
