Newcastle Transfer News: Magpies Can Have Remy Cabella - For £86 Million!

By Joseph Dempsey /

Newcastle have been told by Montpellier president Louis Nicollin they can have midfielder Remy Cabella - as long as they stump up £86 MILLION, according to the Mirror. Newcastle have been chasing Cabella for much of the winter but have been advised to try their luck again in the summer window - unless they are willing to shell out a Gareth Bale-sized fee. Bale became the most expensive player in world football when he left Tottenham for Real Madrid for £86 million last summer, and Nicollin says Newcastle will have to match that if they want Cabella before the transfer window closes next week. The Magpies value the French midfielder at a much-more-realistic £12 million, but colourful Montpellier president Nicollin said:
For us to let Cabella go in January, Newcastle will have to pay what Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale.€
As well as ordering the Magpies pay a blockbuster fee for Cabella this month, Nicollin also mocked Newcastle as a city, dismissing it as "boring". The 70-year-old, who once dyed his hair orange and blue to mark Montpellier's winning of the French title in 2012, blasted:
Personally, I wouldn€™t go there. You must get bored s***less in Newcastle. Remy is a boy I love and he deserves a better club than Newcastle."
Nicollin further expressed his wish that Cabella go elsewhere rather than opt for a move to the north east, and added there was "no question" of him leaving this month.
If they pay the money in summer, there will be no problem, but I would advise him to go elsewhere. If there are good offers then that will allow us to have a good season next year, especially if we are in the top division €“ but there€™s no question at all of him leaving now.€
In other news, Besitkas are eyeing a loan move for Newcastle's Papiss Cisse with the view of making his stay in Turkey permanent in an £8 million deal at the end of the season.
