Newcastle Transfer News: Papiss Cisse Could Join Borussia Dortmund As Robert Lewandowski Replacement?

However, Jurgen Klopp's side will have to come up with at least £15 million if they want to take him away from the Premier League, considering the Senegalese national still has four years of his five-and-a-half-year deal left to run at St James' Park. His performances this season, in which he has netted 13 goals, have reportedly drawn interest from Dortmund, who now appear resigned to losing star striker Lewandowski in the summer. The Polish hitman only has one year left to run on his present deal and has accrued interest from the likes of United and Bayern Munich. However, the Red Devils may have an advantage in the scramble for his signature, considering Bayern recently bought Mario Gotze from their Bundesliga rivals. Veteran manager Sir Alex Ferguson remarked:
Dortmund fans are not going to be happy over that and I dont think the club will sell Lewandowski to Bayern Munich now.
